According to ancient lore, a mythical eagle, in a playful twist of fate, swooped down and stole a tablecloth from a family of the Veli-Umbri tribe. As the eagle flew over the Umbrian hills, it dropped the cloth on a peaceful mountaintop, a moment that was seen as a sign from the heavens. The leader of the tribe, Tudero, took this as a divine message and established Todi in that very spot — claiming the land as his own and forever linking the town to the stars.
